I just donated $100 to the "An Invite to Write" project for at-risk 3rd graders at Sawmills Elementary School in Granite Falls, NC. It was easy and I received an immediate acknowledgment. Glad to contribute to this challenge.

Now, I want to search for projects in Philadelphia (where I live) schools and promote DonorsChoose to teachers in area schools.

Thanks for rising to the challenge, Fred, and for keeping up with the reminders throughout the month.

One of the things you've mentioned here before that I think is critical for people to hear is that these funds dont get bogged down in the school district bureaucracy; they are direct purchases that are ordered for direct shipment to the classroom. Maybe donor's choose wouldn't phrase it that way, but i think it's an important point. Your gift doesn't get bogged down in school district purchasing or any "you can't get that until all the other classes get that" which is typical of other attempts to effect beneficial change in the classroom.

super, i just received a bunch of rebates from things i have purchased (new curve, etc), all will be donated to the challenge.
