I think they are no longer being produced though, at least not in germany, could be wrong though.

NYC rain goes every-which direction. I think the open sides would make this pretty useless in such weather.
On the other hand, it wouldn't be worse than an umbrella - you wear a long trenchcoat. Hmm that could have flapping-loose issues. New fashion to be made....

I'm curious if many of the safety rules in the US make opportunities for light-weight vehicles unavailable. I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day who commented on many vehicles having useless back seats simply because of the laws governing the classification of the vehicles. More government 'help' I suppose.
