The same thing that happened when Chamberlin met with Hitler. The same reason I doubt Obama would have a oval-office meeting with the leader of the KKK....

LOTS of ways for an enemy to use a F2F meeting with the leader of the free world. It is so reckless and naïve.

i don't get why this is such a big deal either. mcain during the debate seemed to suggest that conversation == endorsement which is absolutely wrong. right now, not speaking to Achmadinijad probably gives him more power than speaking to him...

what is the worst thing that could come of a F2F meeting with Achmadinijad? I just don't get why people are so opposed to the president talking to our enemies.

This is where I feel Obama's personality is a great fit, but his policies are a disaster waiting to happen....very Carteresque in their naivety. But....on the other hand, unlike Carter (and BUSH!!!) , I take some comfort in the belief that Obama will surround himself with extremely smart and opinionated people. In other words, I doubt he's actually going to sit down with Achmadinijad....although if I were Achmadinijad I would issue a VERY public invitation to Obama on Jan. 21, 2009.
