As a free service Google Trends is certainly relevant. Charting some sites I know from the inside their data seems close to accurate as far are trending and comparing websites in many cases. I am no expert in this area, but it seems to do well with sites I know. Some with a large amount of traffic. It also gets the traffic right better then Alexa for countries outside US.
