My bet for the top album is either Kings of Leon - Because of the times or Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare. I know those two albums have rocked my world :)

Hi Fred: just fyi, when you attach files in your posts, reading your posts as RSS in Apple Mail is real pain - clicking on the post results in the spinning beach ball. I love reading your blog as RSS in mail, but this bug/problem with Mail makes it hard. If there is anyway to solve this, it would be much appreciated (I understand it might be a Mail problem).

Fred - I agree pretty much point for point about Bruce. Just a solid album. It didn't rock as hard as Kings of Leon, move me as much as anything Will Oldham put out this year, or amaze me like Pela, but it is better than 99% of what is out there. Also: he knows how to put on a show.

Mark Ronson, Version - Can a covers album of duets be the best of the year? It got more airplay from me than any other this year.
Amy Winehouse, Back to Black - Not as strong as Frank, but more consistent.
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
KT Tunstall - Drastic Fantastic
White Stripes - Icky Thump
Tori Amos - American Doll Posse
New Pornographers - Challengers
